22-31 MAY 2015

SHANGHAI

“A LONG WEEK OF SHORT FILMS” Festival is the result of the collaboration between Kan-Kan Media and Chinese art and film institutions like Minsheng Museum of Contemporary Arts in Shanghai (official host of the Festival) and Shanghai Film Art Academy. It arises from the need to create a platform for a dialogue and exchange between film professionals, students, film communities and audiences taking as a reference point Shanghai/China, one of the most diverse culturally cities in the world, melting pot of traditional and modern art expressions.

From 22th until 31st May we will introduce to the audience at the festival an inspiring selection of 150 films from more than 60 countries, shown during 25 screening programs, showcases from prestigious short film festivals and film schools, film installations, as well as workshops, talks, masterclasses and parallel events across Shanghai.

This year we will focus both on the discovery of new film narratives and emerging talents from abroad and in China. The films selected for our festival stand out from the crowd thanks to the wide diversity of subjects, cultural backgrounds, points of views and emotional approach to storytelling

Our aim is to bring the participating film creators into the public spotlight and offer them the opportunities for networking and a platform where ideas and work can be exchanged within a new generation of film creators worldwide.

“LONG WEEK OF SHORT FILMS” program will have two main sections: International Short Films and China Short Films and we will work with our jury committee, reviewers and curators to select the best short films for our program.

The films screened in our festival will be eligible for the International Short Film Competition Award for Best Short Film, Best Director, Audience Award, Emerging talents and New Narratives Award.

Hope you can join us in this film journey!
